ALAN MEEKER

In the game of polo, it is 80% of the horse that depends on the player's success. Alan Meeker, founder of Crestview Genetics, clones polo horses for Adolfo Cambiaso, the number one polo player.  His horses are named Cuartetera with an addition of a number.

UC DAVIS

"Plants have for the first time been cloned as seeds. The research by UC Davis plant scientists and their international collaborators, published Feb. 18 in the journal Science, is a major step toward making hybrid crop plants that can retain favorable traits from generation to generation."

ORIGEN

"Companies in the US are developing the technology needed to “clone” chickens on a massive scale.Normal cloning does not work in birds because eggs cannot be removed and implanted. Instead, the company is trying to bulk-grow embryonic stem cells taken from fertilised eggs as soon as they’re laid.Another challenge is to scale up production. To do this, Origen has teamed up with Embrex, which produces machines that can inject vaccines into up to 50,000 eggs an hour."
